Disaster Preparedness Week - Bonus Day

Bonus Day - Evacuation Checklist

This week you have done seven different tasks designed to get you and your family ready for an emergency. Whether there is a wildfire raging toward your home, or you are jolted awake by an earthquake, you will be prepared and you will know what to do.

Here is an Evacuation Checklist that you can print and keep with your emergency kit.

Following this plan you will be ready to leave your home in under 5 minutes with all of the following!

As you read over the list below, think about how long it would take you to put all of these items together? What if you had to do so in the middle of the night, or while you were preparing to get the kids off to school. What would you forget to grab? How much time would you lose, placing you, and your family in more danger? This is not to scare you, but to get you excited about how easy it can be to be prepared when the time comes.
